The Vacancy
Are you a dynamic and commercially savvy professional with a passion for retail?
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead and drive revenue growth across our retail operations.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping customer experience, optimizing retail performance, and forging strong working relationships within a fast-paced, high profile airport environment.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Commercial Manager will partner with all our Retail, F&B and Property business partners to optimise the financial performance and customer experience of the airport’s existing commercial operations including retail, vending, food and beverage and other ancillary products and services
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage and optimise the performance of Retail, F&B and Property facilities based on contractual commitments
Collate, analyse and communicate commercial performance of all concessions
Build and maintain relationships between all business partners, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration
Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders through regular contact and by understanding the needs of their business, liaising, advising and providing appropriate and timely airport information
Be responsible for Health and Safety compliance from concessionaires
Be the day-to-day point of contact for all issues including retail operations & performance, deliveries, storage, waste, opening hours
Collaborate with other internal and external business partners, working inter-dependently to improve communication and drive success
Working closely with internal and external business partners to create monthly and quarterly sales plans
Identify opportunities for additional revenue products (including seasonal and pop-up) and manage the process from inception through to launch
Support the wider Commercial Team on appropriate contract negotiations and tenders for new opportunities
Set up of new sites with our recommended suppliers
Working closely with finance to manage timely raising of supplier invoices
Developing reporting suite using Business intelligence (BI) tools, to better understand and capitalise on market trends and to optimise trading strategy

Qualifications:
5+ years retail, F&B, or commercial experience in an operational environment, ideally with multi-site experience
Analytical with attention to detail
Experience in retail and property contract management and negotiation ideal
A great collaborator with an open, can-do attitude, willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done
Proven experience partnering with multiple stakeholders across the business and third-party suppliers to deliver mutually beneficial relationships
Commercial, numerate and analytical, making sure insight is driving our decision making & investment
Good understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office.
Working Hours
London City Airport is open up to 20 hours a day over 7 days of the week therefore flexibility regarding hours will be required
Working hours Monday to Friday 0900-1730 (40 hours a week with 30 minutes for lunch)
These times are subject to change due to future operational requirements and flexibility required regarding hours and days on an ad hoc basis. Some early starts and night shifts may be required.

Who do we share your personal data with, and why?
From time to time we may ask third parties to carry out certain business functions for us, such as the administration of our payroll and our IT support. Retention
