This is a Permanent, Part Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

The safe, secure and efficient operation of London City Airport 24hrs per day is the key business priority. The Campus Security Officer is vital in ensuring that the whole site is secure, and that customers and staff are safe and secure before entering the terminal building.

 

Main purpose of the job:

  • Conduct security patrols across the Campus and in the surrounding areas
  • Control access to any worksites being utilised
  • Report any concerns to the Campus Team Leader
  • Provide excellent customer service to arriving and departing customers and assist with meeting and greeting them across the airport campus
  • Ensure that the airport ‘no parking policy’ at the terminal front area is consistently implemented, so that no vehicles are waiting or left unattended at any time
  • Maintain the trolley positioning plan and to account for the varying customer flow at different times of the day and week
  • Monitor the taxi rank to ensure the barrier is working and unauthorised vehicles are not using it
  • To monitor the taxi rank during off peak periods of the day to ensure there are enough taxis for the customers, contacting customer services if more taxis are required
  • Liaise with LCY Colleagues, Airport Stakeholders and Emergency Services as required
  • To assist with various adhoc duties as reasonably required from time to time
  • Health and Safety Responsibilities:
  • Ensure health and safety legislative requirements are met such as DSE assessment and health and safety awareness meeting all corporate HSE targets
  • Pay due care and attention to health and safety procedures and recommendations both on and off site to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Ensure any hazards or unsafe acts are reported through the Accident and Safety reporting scheme and to the relevant managers

Key Competencies:

  • Strong eye for detail
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised and take accountability for areas of work

Qualifications:

  • Level 1 GSO Training
  • Traffic Marshall training
  • Previous security experience
  • Full UK Driving License

Hour of work:

  • 20 hour per week
  • Shift pattern Monday - Friday 04:00-08:00  
  • These times are subject to change due to future operational requirements
  • There may be occasional out of hours call outs to attend, including nights and other unsocial times
